The Masters Lodge Cape Kidnappers Napier New Zealand

This historically distinctive residence was the home of tobacco Baron Gerhard Husheer, Director of the National Tobacco Company. The residence was designed by famed architect Louis Hay in the early 1930s when he also designed Napier’s most famous Art Deco building – the National Tobacco Company Building – and features original Art Deco and Art Nouveau furnishings, servant bell system and extensive leadlighting (stained glass) throughout.

The Lodge offers only two (2) Guest Suites with private ensuites. Named ‘Kidnappers’ and ‘Deco’, each suite reflects a major Hawke’s Bay attraction and includes art deco furnishings, damask cotton bed linens, goosedown duvets & pillows, walk-in wardrobes, extra towels & bathrobes, separate shower and original cast iron bathtub, “Seascape” toiletries, hair dryers, Sky-TV & video in the Solarium and in-suite on request, direct dial phones and modem ports.

The Lodge also offers a living room and cocktail lounge, formal dining room, solarium, superbly stocked wine cellar, music room, shady verandahs, beautifully maintained flower gardens in park-like grounds, off-street parking, and much, much more! The Lodge overlooks Cape Kidnappers, the Art Deco City of Napier, the Pacific Ocean and the Marine Parade.

The beach, shops, restaurants, museums and central business district are all within a 10 minute walk from the Lodge.
